Cuddle Up and Read

Does your child have a favorite animal book? Grab it from the bookshelf for story time! Or, watch this read-aloud of Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell, read by the author. During the story, you might ask your child to predict which animal will be sent to the narrator before it is revealed. Afterwards, ask your child:

  • Why did the narrator send back each animal?

  • Would you have kept any of them?

  • Which animal would be the most dangerous pet?

  • Imagine the zoo had sent a jellyfish. What would its container have looked like?

Read along to the story here.
